Steven Lomax, MD, is a urologist at UT Health East Texas Urology in Tyler and Jacksonville. “I became a physician because of the unique opportunity it provides to care for an individual’s physical and emotional needs. I care for my patients with a shared decision-making approach by listening to their needs, educating them on their options and directing them to the treatment plan with their interests in mind. In urology, I am often able to treat a patient from work-up to medical treatment and then ultimately surgical treatment when necessary. This affords me the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with my patients.”

While he provides general urology services, Dr. Lomax specializes in minimally invasive techniques to treat urologic cancers, kidney stones, enlarged prostate and voiding dysfunction. He also is experienced in reconstructive urology for male and female urinary incontinence, urethral strictures and erectile dysfunction.

When not seeing patients, Dr. Lomax enjoys fishing and spending time with his wife and four children.

Dr. Lomax is employed as a clinical faculty physician at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler under the UT Tyler School of Medicine.

I talked to Dr. Lomax and that was it for the first appointment. He gave me a simple game plan till I get another comprehensive blood test in June with Dr. Moss for A1c. Dr. Lomax was easy to understand and talk to.

Dr Lomax is a caring doctor that takes time to listen to you. He explains the possible concerns and the pros and cons of those options needed to treat your condition. He is cautious and logical in his approach to treating your condition. I highly recommend him to anyone needing a urologist.

I highly recommend Dr. Lomax if you need a urologist. He has an excellent bedside manner, explains fully the condition and treatment, answers all of your questions and an all around wonderful person. Everyone at his office is very helpful also. Not sure how these stars but he gets a 10 in my book.
