UT Health East Texas remains in-network with Aetna today. However, if a new agreement is not reached, some Aetna members may see changes to their in-network access on the dates listed below. These dates apply only to the listed physician group segments and facilities. All other facilities and physician group segments remain in-network until later dates.
Current termination dates
Current termination dates under the agreement are:
- Oct. 1: UT Health North Campus Tyler Physicians Agreement
- Nov. 1: UT Health Tyler, UT Health Jacksonville, UT Health East Texas Rehabilitation Center and UT Health North Campus Tyler
Because the agreement has different effective dates, a patient’s coverage may vary by service or location. Physician or clinic-based care billed through the UT Health North Campus Tyler Physicians Agreement may be out-of-network beginning Oct. 1, while the listed hospital facility services remain in-network until Nov. 1.
Patients with questions about their network status should contact their provider’s office. We recognize the disruption this could create and will work to support a smooth transition of care, if needed.
What Aetna members should know
- Access to emergency services at our facilities at in-network rates will not be impacted. Insurance companies are required to cover emergency services at in-network rates.
- Aetna members should contact Aetna using the number listed for members on the back of their insurance card to learn whether they qualify for continuity of care services or have other out-of-network benefits under their plan. Ask Aetna to work with UT Health East Texas to protect in-network access to the care they need from the providers they know and trust.
Aetna members concerned about their current health plan should consult their employer or insurance broker to discuss other health plans that include UT Health East Texas as in-network. A full list of in-network plans is available at uthealtheasttexas.com/insurance.
