UT Health East Texas and UnitedHealthcare (UHC) have agreed to extend their current agreement for 45 days, to October 15, while discussion continue toward a new multi-year agreement. During this extension period, UT Health East Texas hospitals, clinics and employed providers will remain in-network for UHC members.
As caregivers, nothing is more important to us than ensuring East Texans have access to the care they need from the providers and healthcare teams they know and trust.
Over the past several months, UT Health East Texas and UnitedHealthcare have been engaged in good faith discussions regarding a new agreement. While that is continuing, the extension provides additional time to finalize remaining details while maintaining uninterrupted access to care for patients.
What patients need to know
- UT Health East Texas remains in-network with UnitedHealthcare during the extension period to October 15.
- Patients may continue receiving care from UT Health East Texas hospitals, clinics and employed providers as they do today.
- Scheduled appointments, treatments and procedures are not affected.
