About Melissa Walters APRN, FNP-C
Melissa Walters is a family nurse practitioner who sees patients of all ages at UT Health East Texas Physicians in Carthage. “I want to assist patients in achieving the best health they can as well as allow them to partner in their own care. I believe that a strong provider-patient relationship is built on communication and collaboration.”
Walters became interested in healthcare at a young age becuase of her own patient experience. “My orthopedist and his staff took time to teach me anatomy and demonstrate the equipment – I was hooked.”
Her special areas of medical interest are growth and development and health promotion. “I enjoy caring for patients across the lifespan and seeing them grow and change.” She also has a background in emergency medicine and operative care.
