About Jennifer Mahmoud PA-C

Jennifer Mahmoud, PA-C, is a certified physician assistant at UT Health East Texas Physicians in Athens.

“I am passionate about healthcare and committed to providing patient-centered care. My approach focuses on understanding each patient’s needs, answering their questions and educating them on individualized treatment options. I strive to create personalized plans that consider economic, social and cultural factors that may impact their health journey,” Jennifer said.

“My journey in healthcare began in college, where I was captivated by the body’s intricate systems and how they connect. During physician assistant school, I loved working with patients, listening to them and helping them navigate health challenges. Over the years, I have gained invaluable insights from each patient I’ve had the privilege to treat.

“I am particularly drawn to the gastrointestinal system and its connections to other systems, including immune, cardiac, neurological and psychological health. I advocate for lifelong wellness through healthy habits, exercise, and stress reduction, approaches that can address many gastrointestinal concerns. The complexity of the field continues to inspire me, and I find great fulfillment in the ongoing learning and growth it offers.”

Outside of work, Jennifer loves running outdoors and participating in marathons. She also enjoys spending time with her family and being out on the water.
