About Jathan Cantu MD
Jathan Cantu, MD, is a board-certified family medicine physician at UT Health East Texas Physicians in Henderson that sees patients 18 years and older. “I believe I was called to the medical profession to serve a hurting world. My heart has always been oriented to help those in need. Medicine was the right intersection of passion, temperament, interest and opportunity.
Dr. Cantu believes that patient care is built on trust, respect and communication between the patient and physician. “The physician and patient work best as partners while navigating medical diagnosis, treatment, disease prevention and cost. A sound relationship promotes continuity of care and improves quality of care.
“I serve my patients best when practicing adult care, treating acute and chronic disease, mental health and promoting health prevention. I also enjoy doing minor office procedures.”
Dr. Cantu is employed as a clinical faculty physician at The University of Texas at Tyler Health Science Center under the UT Tyler School of Medicine.
