About Robert Dorman MD, PhD, FACS
Robert Dorman, MD, PhD, FACS, is a board-certified general surgeon at UT Health Athens and UT Health Jacksonville. Dr. Dorman considers patient education a must. “I believe the patient must be fully informed of their treatment options, especially non-surgical options, so they can feel comfortable with their decisions.”
Additionally, building strong patient physician relationships is important to him. “Patients put their trust in me, and I hold that trust in the highest regard,” Dr. Dorman said. “I went into surgery because I enjoy operating, but I pay particular focus to bringing the patient through the pre-operative and post-operative phases of care as well. It is at these times that the most important aspects of the patient physician relationship are formed.
In his free time, Dr. Dorman enjoys running, weight lifting, reading, cooking and long walks on the beach with his beautiful wife.
Dr. Dorman is employed as a clinical faculty physician at The University of Texas at Tyler Health Science Center under the UT Tyler School of Medicine.
