About Shane Smith

M. Shane Smith, APRN, FNP-C, has more than 30 years of health care experience and has dedicated his career to caring for patients across a variety of clinical settings. Since entering the medical field in 1992, he has worked in hospitals, emergency departments, intensive care units, ambulances, clinics and air medical transport. His diverse clinical background provides experience caring for patients in both routine and critical care settings. His care philosophy focuses on patient-centered, individualized care that treats the whole person while emphasizing compassion, dignity and respect. He values open communication and shared decision-making, believing the best outcomes occur when patients and their families are active partners in their care and treatment plans reflect their goals, values and preferences.
Shane was drawn to health care by a desire to help others and the personal fulfillment that comes from serving his community. He chose family medicine because it allows him to care for patients of all ages and address a wide range of health needs throughout every stage of life. His professional interests include family medicine, pediatric medicine, emergency and critical care, and medical education.
