Expanded services include Orthopedics & Sports Medicine, Cardiology, State-of-the-Art Diagnostic Services, Urgent Care and Occupational Health
Tyler, Texas (August 7, 2025) — UT Health East Texas hosted a ribbon-cutting and community open house to celebrate the grand opening of its new, $12 million, 20,000-square-foot medical facility in South Tyler.
This new facility, at 2208 Three Lakes Parkway, just off Old Jacksonville Highway, significantly expands the health system’s footprint in one of the region’s fastest-growing areas.
“This expansion responds directly to the growth we’re seeing in South Tyler,” said G. Todd Hill, CEO of UT Health East Texas Physicians. “By bringing more specialty services closer to where people live, we’re making care more convenient, accessible and efficient for our community.”
Located adjacent to UT Health East Texas Physicians’ existing clinic on Three Lakes Parkway — which currently offers family medicine, internal medicine, ENT, and facial plastic surgery services — the new building features urgent care, cardiology, diagnostic imaging, and orthopedic/sports medicine services, with ample parking and covered patient drop-off access to enhance convenience and comfort for patients and visitors.
Given the strong partnership with The University of Texas at Tyler and The University of Texas System, this location also will be instrumental in UT Health East Texas’ mission of educating and developing the caregivers of the future.
“In addition to providing much-needed state-of-the-art care in this part of our community, the clinical faculty of the UT Tyler School of Medicine will provide care for patients in this new location,” said Steven Cox, MD, President of the University Practice Plan. “We are excited about serving our community in this way and greatly expanding clinical sites for our medical students and for our residents and fellows in training.”

In addition, the center will offer occupational health services for employers and employees, including pre-employment physicals and screenings, workplace injury evaluations and treatment, drug and alcohol testing, and return-to-work exams.
Orthopedics and Sports Medicine

This location also will offer specialized diagnosis and treatments for patients with osteoporosis and osteopenia to improve bone health and reduce fracture risk.
The department includes 16 dedicated exam rooms, two on-site X-ray units, and ultrasound imaging to provide convenient, advanced diagnostic capabilities.
“This state-of-the-art facility will become the regional center for non-surgical orthopedic and sports medicine care,” said Don McKay, market director of orthopedics and sports medicine. “Our multidisciplinary team is committed to helping patients return to their active lifestyles safely and quickly, while also supporting the education and training of future providers.”
Cardiology Services
Also located on the first floor, the cardiology clinic will have six dedicated exam rooms and on-site EKG for streamlined care including:
