"I believe that good primary care is the foundation for a healthier society. Open communication and helping patients understand their conditions are central to my approach, ensuring they feel in charge of their health," said Dr. Samavedi. "From a young age, I was drawn to helping people, greatly influenced by my aunt, who was a pediatrician. I chose internal medicine because it covers a vast array of conditions, allowing me to care for the whole person and build long-term relationships as my patients age. I regularly attend continuing medical education courses to stay updated with the latest guidelines and advancements in the field. "My special areas of medical interest include preventive care, from screening for common cancers to Hepatitis C and STI screening, geriatrics, women's health and obesity management. Beyond preventive care, I manage acute and chronic conditions like diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol and obesity, with appropriate referrals when necessary." When not seeing patients, Dr. Samavedi enjoys reading, spending time with friends and growing roses. In addition to English, Dr. Samavedi is fluent in Telugu and Hindi. Dr. Samavedi is employed as a clinical faculty physician at The University of Texas at Tyler Health Science Center under the UT Tyler School of Medicine.
