UT Health Pittsburg provides COVID-19 vaccines for Pilgrim's employees

Pittsburg, Texas (April 16, 2021) — UT Health East Texas caregivers vaccinated nearly 200 Pilgrim’s employees against COVID-19 this week during a two-day vaccine clinic at the company’s truck shop on Texas Street.

For Karen Nelson, transportation coordinator for the feed mill, getting the vaccine required little more than a walk across the parking lot.

A group of UT Health Tyler leaders and medical staff gathered at Lindsey Park in March to help plant the nine trees UT Health Tyler donated to the city of Tyler Parks and Recreation Department. The trees represent the nine beds being added as part of the hospital’s NICU construction.

Tyler, Texas (April 12, 2020) — UT Health Tyler donated nine trees to the city of Tyler Parks and Recreation Department this spring to commemorate the groundbreaking for the hospital’s neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).

UT Health Jacksonville provides COVID-19 vaccines for Jacksonville ISD employees

Minutes after receiving the COVID-19 vaccine at UT Health Jacksonville on Wednesday, Sharon Crowe discussed the impact of finally being able to get vaccinated.

“It’s a feeling of comfort, protection — to protect my mom. I haven’t gotten to see her since this started,” Crowe said through tears.

“I’ve been waiting to do this. Most of my family is in healthcare, so they’ve all been vaccinated and I feel it’s just important to get this done so we can get rid of this virus,” Crowe said.

UT Health East Texas Physicians clinics to close Monday due to weather

All UT Health East Texas Physicians clinics will be closed Monday due to inclement weather. This includes the COVID-19 vaccine clinic at UT Health North Campus Tyler, 11937 U.S. Highway 271. Anyone who has a COVID-19 vaccine appointment Monday may come to the clinic to receive their second dose on another day next week. They will not need a scheduled appointment, but will need to bring the vaccine card they received at their first appointment.
