New grade for spring 2025 is a national recognition for commitment to patient safety  

Jacksonville, Texas (May 1, 2025) —  UT Health Jacksonville earned an “A” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, an independent national nonprofit watchdog focused on patient safety. Leapfrog assigns an “A,” “B,” “C,” “D” or “F” grade to general hospitals across the country based on over 30 measures of errors, accidents, injuries and infections as well as the systems hospitals have in place to prevent them.

Tyler, Texas (April 30, 2025) — UT Health East Texas EMS has once again been nationally recognized for its excellence in emergency medical services, earning its sixth consecutive three-year accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services (CAAS). This achievement places UT Health East Texas EMS among an elite group — roughly 180 ambulance services nationwide — to voluntarily meet and exceed the Commission’s rigorous standards.

Tyler, Texas (April 17, 2025) — UT Health East Texas is expanding access to healthcare with a state-of-the-art, more than 8,000-square-foot facility strategically positioned at Loop 323 and Earl Campbell Parkway in West Tyler. The new building, located across from Sam’s Club and adjacent to the new Chick-fil-A, will house an urgent care center, as well as pediatric and primary care clinics.

Henderson, Texas (February 25, 2025) — UT Health Henderson announced today that it has been recognized for outstanding improvements in clinical operations, employee satisfaction and patient experience by its parent company, Ardent Health.

UT Health Henderson received the inaugural Momentum Award for its strong performance across all aspects of operations and care delivery. This award highlights the significant progress driving the hospital's strong performance gains.

Tyler, Texas (January 15, 2025) —  UT Health Tyler today announced that it is the first in the region to offer Aquablation therapy with the new HYDROS Robotic System, the next-generation platform to treat men suffering from benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), commonly known as an enlarged prostate. Aquablation therapy, now delivered by an AI-powered robotic system, is clinically proven to provide significant, durable BPH symptom relief while preserving sexual function and continence across prostates of all shapes and sizes.

Tyler, Texas (January 15, 2025) —  UT Health East Texas has announced the sale of HealthFirst TPA (Third Party Administrator) and two related companies, Medical Management Solutions (MM Solutions, Inc.) and Risk Funding Alternatives (RFA, Inc.), to Imagine360, an integrated health plan provider specializing in self-funded health solutions for employers.

The transaction, effective December 31, 2024, positions HealthFirst and its affiliates for expansion within the East Texas market. 

Quitman, Texas (January 2, 2025) — Guy B. Cayo has been named chief executive officer for UT Health Quitman, effective immediately. 

Cayo has been serving on an interim basis as administrator for UT Health Quitman since September while retaining his role as CEO at UT Health Pittsburg. He is expanding his leadership responsibilities by now serving as CEO of both hospitals.
