UT Health Tyler Among Nation’s Top Performing Hospitals for Treatment of Heart Attack Patients

Tyler, Texas (June 21, 2023) — UT Health Tyler has received the American College of Cardiology’s NCDR (National Cardiovascular Data Registry) Chest Pain  ̶  MI Registry Platinum Performance Achievement Award for 2023. UT Health Tyler is one of only 262 hospitals nationwide to receive the honor.

Henderson, Texas (May 3, 2023) —  UT Health Henderson received an “A” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit upholding the standard of patient safety in hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers. This national distinction celebrates UT Health Henderson’s achievements in prioritizing patient safety by protecting patients from preventable harm and errors. The new grades reflect performance primarily during the height of the pandemic.

UT Health Tyler and UT Health Quitman recognized for excellence

Tyler, Texas (February 27, 2023) — UT Health Tyler has been recognized for excellence with the Ardent Cup, the highest honor awarded by Ardent Health Services. UT Health Quitman also received honors with Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) Rob Terry named CNO of the Year. 

UT Health Tyler and Rob Terry were selected among other eligible hospitals and leaders within Ardent, which includes 30 hospitals and more than 200 sites of care. Ardent operates UT Health East Texas through a joint venture with The University of Texas System.

Most UT Health East Texas Physicians clinics to open at 10 a.m. Wednesday due to weather

Tyler, Texas — All UT Health East Texas Physicians clinics with the exception of those in Jacksonville, Henderson and Carthage will delay opening until 10 a.m. Wednesday, February 1, due to inclement weather. Clinics in in Jacksonville, Henderson and Carthage will open at the regularly scheduled time. Due to road conditions, the clinics in Gun Barrel City and Mt. Pleasant will be closed today for the remainder of the day. Clinics closed or with delayed openings will contact patients to reschedule their appointments.

UT Health Jacksonville nurse Cassi Wilburn receives DAISY Award

Jacksonville, Texas — Cassi Wilbur, RN, was selected by UT Health Jacksonville as a DAISY Award winner.

Nurses may be nominated by patients, families and colleagues, and Wilbur received a formal nomination from a coworker, Callie Jackson, RN.

In her nomination, Jackson described how she observed Wilbur take phenomenal care of a patient who arrived with a rapid heart rate to a crowded emergency room. Wilbur stayed with the patient while medication was administered, coaching her through what was happening and helping her to remain calm.

UT Health Pittsburg Offers Free Lunch and Learn on Hypertension

Pittsburg, Texas — UT Health Pittsburg is offering a free lunch and learn seminar at noon Wednesday, February 22. The seminar will feature a presentation by William Oglesby, MD, titled Understanding Hypertension. The presentation will be at UT Health Pittsburg, Conference Room A, and a complimentary lunch will be provided.
