Same-day or next-day injury care

Our qualified team is available to assist in orthopedic emergencies by offering same-day and next-day appointments. Patients with urgent or severe injuries requiring immediate attention can typically be seen within 24 hours. Examples of urgent injuries may include:

When injuries occur and conditions develop, our sports medicine doctors are ready to provide surgical and non-surgical care. Our goal is to get patients back to their activities quickly, safely and fully recovered. Some of the most common sports- and exercise-related conditions we treat include:

During the fall season, our physicians and athletic trainers are available on Saturday mornings to evaluate those student athletes who have sustained an injury and help them start the road to recovery.

UT Health Sports Medicine has partnered with UT Health East Texas's residency program to offer our family-medicine residents a unique educational opportunity. This partnership allows new physicians to gain the knowledge and experience needed to treat common sports-related injuries and conditions often seen in a private-practice setting.

UT Health East Texas is proud to partner with UT Tyler Health Science Center to offer our sports medicine fellowship program. Our fellows work closely with our sports medicine specialists to get hands-on experience while continuing their post-residency education.

The UT Health East Texas Sports Medicine Program partners with local schools and youth sports associations to provide athletic trainers and expedited referrals to our orthopedic and sports medicine physicians.
