Paul Critelli, MD is a plastic surgeon who performs both cosmetic and reconstructive procedures of the face, body and hands. Dr. Critelli completed eight years of surgical residency training and spent two years in private practice in Dallas before joining UT Health East Texas in Tyler in 2018, with his wife and two girls.
Serving the greater East Texas area, he is dedicated to deeply understanding and attaining the individual goals and concerns of his patients. He believes communication is the key to a good doctor-patient relationship and encourages his patient’s to participate in their care. “I enjoy cases that make an impact in the quality of my patient’s lives. Whether it be returning a patient’s image after breast cancer or building a patient’s self-confidence with body contouring.”
He is interested in helping patients achieve their desired form, function and aesthetics. “When most surgeons operate, they remove a diseased process, like cancer. Plastic surgeons have the unique job of putting the puzzle back together as in facial and hand trauma, or they create and sculpt the body using tissue or implants, as is the case with breast reconstruction and body contouring.”
Dr. Critelli earned his bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University in College Station, his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. He completed his general surgery residency at Methodist Health System in Dallas and his Plastic Surgery Residency at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston.
In his free time Dr. Critelli enjoys spending time with family and watching his two, beautiful girls grow up.
