Stephanie R. Ellis, APRN, AGACNP-BC

Stephanie Ellis, APRN, AGACNP-BC, is a board-certified adult-gerontology acute care nurse practitioner in the cardiothoracic surgery clinic at UT Health East Texas Physicians in Tyler. “I always wanted to be a nurse. As the nurse practitioner role became more widely known, I saw an opportunity to improve patient care and outcomes while remaining in touch with patients and their families. Cardiovascular surgery is especially interesting because of the acute patient care and ongoing education that go along with it.”

She believes in providing compassionate care that encompasses the patient and their families as part of the decision-making team. She does that by providing clear, concise communication regarding all aspects of care throughout treatment. This builds trust between the patient, their family and the healthcare team, which leads to improved outcomes.

When not seeing patients, she enjoys spending time outside, working on her home, bike riding and spending time with family.
