Shannon Middleton, APRN, FNP-C

Shannon Middleton, APRN, FNP-C, is a certified family nurse practitioner at UT Health East Texas Physicians in Cedar Creek Lake. She has a special interest in family medicine after 25 years in acute care medicine, and witnessing the consequences with the lack of preventive care. Shannon believes that everyone should have access to equal and high-quality healthcare. “Patient and family communication/education are key to providing quality healthcare,” she said. “I aim to provide that by working as a team with my patients and their families.”

Shannon has been drawn to healthcare from an early age and was solidified when she had her first child. The doctors and nurses cared for her with such kindness, and educated her in numerous areas to ensure she was empowered with knowledge to care for herself and her newborn. Her son grew up to be a physician assistant and inspired her to return to school and receive her family nurse practitioner certification.

In her spare time, Shannon enjoys spending time with her family, playing games, reading and traveling.
