Sadia Malik, MD, is a board-certified family medicine physician who sees patients of all ages at UT Health East Texas Physicians on Fifth Street in Tyler. “I think the most important thing is to just listen to the patient. You might notice something that could change the patient’s whole medical treatment.”

Although born in the U.S., Dr. Malik spent time growing up in her parents’ native Pakistan. She speaks English, Urdu, Punjabi, Hindi and a little Spanish, which helps her communicate with a wider range of patients. “I try to put myself in their place. I like to explain why we’re doing things, even if it’s just a simple test.”

Dr. Malik earned her medical degree from Rawalpindi Medical College in Pakistan and she completed her family medicine internship and residency at Reading Hospital and Medical Center in West Reading, Pennsylvania.
