Dr Robert Carney is genuinely interested in the over-all well being of his patients. Should he feel additional input is warranted he does not hesitate to call in another Cardiologist with a more particular Speciality, example Heart Valve. I just had a three year check-up with Dr. Carney, following up on my cardiac arrest on March 9th, 2018, and a subsequent open heart bypass procedure in September of 2018. This appointment went very well and he was pleased with the steady progress I have made. All my lab results were in really good shape and he encouraged me to continue doing what I am doing—eating healthy, daily exercise, and continue taking the medicines he has prescribed for me. Nineteen years and 9 months ago I first met Dr. Carney in the ER at Mother Frances Hospital after having a heart attach. I had to have a triple bypass and he and Dr. Lee saved my life. i have followed up with him yearly for almost 20 years and have had no problems and by bypasses are still good. I recently had a Pacemaker/Defibrillator implant. Dr. Carney LISTENS. He is not in a hurry. He wants to understand what is going on with the patient. He encourages questions then challenges you with the answers. Dr. Carney takes time to explain your condition in an understandable manner. He took time to go over my lengthy list of medications. On my first visit after surgery He took me off one medication and then cut two other in half. He instructed me to keep a daily log of my blood pressure. Today I had a Video Teleconference with Dr. Carney. He wanted to know how I was doing, especially with shortness of breath and swelling. I explained that I had no shortness of breath/swelling but did have considerable pain in the calves of my legs. We went over my blood pressure log. He took me off of one medications and placed me on another. He explained what he was trying to accomplish and what I should watch for with my blood pressures. I feel as if we are working together.

I would also like to mention that these TeleHealth Services during COVID-19 have been a God send for her.
