David Rice, MD, is a board-certified internal medicine physician, who sees adult patients at UT Health East Texas Physicians at North Campus Tyler. Dr. Rice believes in “meeting patients where they are” in regards to their healthcare needs. “I see it as my responsibility to partner with patients as they navigate through this ever-changing environment of healthcare so that they receive the best and most appropriate care possible.”
Dr. Rice chose healthcare, internal medicine in particular, because he enjoys getting to know people – their stories and their history – while helping them solve problems with their health. “I found early in my medical training that I enjoyed developing lasting relationships with patients,” he said. “I enjoy most areas of internal medicine, but have specifically enjoyed working with patients with chronic medical conditions like heart failure, diabetes and COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease).”
When not seeing patients, Dr. Rice enjoys fishing, playing and watching a variety of sports and visiting his daughters with his wife, Holly, whenever possible.
