David Jones, MD, FCCP is a board-certified pulmonary and sleep medicine physician at the UT Health East Texas Pulmonary Institute on South Fleishel in Tyler. He is also boardcertified in internal and critical care medicine. “My goal is always to be a patient advocate. That means being sensitive to patient needs and knowing that one size does not fit all. That translates into adapting as needed so that the outcome is as good as we can make it,” said Dr. Jones.
He got into healthcare because he grew up in a medical family. “My father was a small-town general practitioner who demonstrated great attributes of being a doctor and my mother was a nurse.” Dr. Jones has practiced in Tyler for more than 30 years. He has special expertise in interventional procedures for pulmonary medicine and many different bronchoscopic procedures, including robotic bronchoscopy, laser, photodynamic therapy, stenting, argon plasma coagulation (APC) and others.

Office was quiet & clean. Receptionist (Brandy) was friendly and polite. Tech/Nurse (Yesmari)was accommodating , informative and helpful. Dr Jones was informative, and I felt like he listened to my care/concerns. Excellent Dr visit, highly recommend.

If I could give Doctor Jones ten stars I would. Everything about my experience with him and his staff as well as the technician who did my sleep study was positive. I am particularly grateful for the way that he clearly communicated and explained my condition and the recommended treatment. Dr. Jones is a marvelous doctor and pulmonologist. When I was having breathing problems and left chest pain, he was the only one to send me for a PET scan that revealed my breast cancer had come back after 11 years. He helped me when no one else would listen. He takes great care to explain things, he listens and thoroughly reviews your medical history, and he stayed on top of my treatment. I wouldn't ever want to see anyone else.

Dr. Jones has been a hero for me. I switched Pulmonologist after a very frustrating experience with another sleep specialist in Tyler. After switching my records to Dr. Jones, he interpreted and explained my data taking as much time as I needed to absorb the information. His manner was very cordial, patient and kind; he was professional and thorough with his explanations and provided me with diagrams using terms I could well understand leaving me fully informed. He answered many questions that my previous pulmonologist would not take the time to answer. His DME office followed through with care and personal attention. His billing office was accommodating and efficient. My experience with Dr Jones and his staff has been 5 star.
