Clayton Hodges, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic sports medicine surgeon at UT Health East Texas Orthopedic Institute. His goal is to provide integrated, compassionate care to ensure that his patients get back to their desired level of activity in a timely manner. “I believe in educating my patients to ensure they are able to make well-informed decisions about their own recovery.

“I got into healthcare after a career in biotech to have a more substantial and personal impact on people and their well-being. Orthopedic sports medicine is the field that I was most passionate about during my medical training, and I have not regretted that choice for a second. As Theodore Roosevelt once said, ‘Far and away the best prize that life has to offer is the chance to work hard at work worth doing.’ For me, that work is orthopedic sports medicine,” Dr. Hodges said.

Dr. Hodges is employed as a clinical faculty physician at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler under the UT Tyler School of Medicine.

Truly the nicest Dr. I have ever met. He took so much time explaining every thing to me about my torn rotator cuff and answered all my many questions and even agreed to let me put off surgery, although adviced against it, for a less busy time in my farm life and ordered PT to try to help when I asked him too. Bless you Dr Hodges. I wish all Dr. were as kind and patient and caring as you are!

I was in need of an orthopedic specialist due to a broken knee cap. I was nervous and unsure of what to expect (first broken bone). Upon my first visit with Dr. Clayton Hodges, I was immediately comfortable. His knowledge and professionalism quickly put me at ease. Dr. Hodges consistently addresses all my inquiries and concerns with patience and empathy. Additionally, nurse Lashawnda and the whole team are top notch! From start to finish, the entire experience has been excellent at each of my appointments. If you are ever in need of an orthopedic specialist, I enthusiastically and highly recommend Dr. Clayton Hodges!
