Ashley Tomlin, APRN, RN, MSN, FNP-C, provides individualized care plans for each of her patients at Tyler Cardiovascular Consultants. “I believe it is essential to encompass the individual as a person, both physically and mentally, in order for my patients to truly thrive on the healthcare continuum.”
Tomlin chose to focus on cardiology because of her father. “My father had cardiac issues shortly after I graduated from college. After visiting with him in the hospital and asking the nurses a ton of questions, I began looking for a job with telemetry/cardiac ICU.”
When it comes to cardiovascular health, Tomlin stresses the importance of healthy eating and exercise.“I understand that introducing lifestyle changes can be overwhelming, which is why I recommend patients start with making small changes. For example, I recommend parking in the back of the parking lot, taking the stairs at work, replacing one fatty meal with a salad and so on.”
Her personal interests include spending time with her family, traveling and running half marathons.
