Quitman, Texas (January 2, 2025) — Guy B. Cayo has been named chief executive officer for UT Health Quitman, effective immediately.
Cayo has been serving on an interim basis as administrator for UT Health Quitman since September while retaining his role as CEO at UT Health Pittsburg. He is expanding his leadership responsibilities by now serving as CEO of both hospitals.
“I am honored to lead both UT Health Pittsburg and now UT Health Quitman,” Cayo said. “Together, we have an extraordinary opportunity to share best practices, strengthen our commitment to quality care and expand access to healthcare services for our communities.”
In this new role, Cayo will oversee the strategic direction of both facilities, ensuring alignment in providing exceptional healthcare and fostering a collaborative culture that benefits both hospitals and the communities they serve.

Before assuming the Pittsburg CEO position in March 2021, Cayo spent the majority of his career at Kindred Hospital systems. Cayo earned his bachelor’s degree in business management and his master’s degree in health administration from Florida International University in Miami.
