The purpose of a browlift is to address the age-related changes that affect the upper 1/3 of the face like eyebrow droop and deep forehead lines. Over time, as we age, the eyebrows descend and lines form in the upper face which may give the impression we are tired or angry. A browlift is a surgical procedure which elevates the eyebrows and softens the deeper lines of the forehead and area between the eyebrows to create a natural, rested appearance. There are several different browlift techniques from which Dr. Perro may choose, but a consultation in the office will allow him to guide you to which would work best in your case.
During/After Surgery
A brow lift is performed under general anesthesia at UT Health Tyler. It can last between 1 to 2 hours. Patients are sent home after surgery and advised to limit movement for up to two days. There will be some bruising and swelling that may be present on other areas of the face, such as the cheeks. Patients will be able to go back to a normal routine within a week. Strenuous activities must be avoided as it may affect healing. It is quite normal to feel as though the face is out of symmetry, but within 3-6 months, patients will see the optimized results, and look and feel younger with a positive outcome.
Expected Cost
Schedule an appointment for a customized consultation with Dr. Perro to determine the cost of your procedure. Because a brow lift is considered cosmetic in nature, insurance generally does not cover this procedure. However, in some cases where vision is affected because of sagging skin, insurance coverage may be a consideration. This is not guaranteed and varies by surgical case.
