UT Health East Texas is on a mission to help reduce the risk of heart disease in our community — but we can't do it alone.
Heart disease remains the leading cause of death in the United States and can cause many other health conditions. By practicing healthy heart habits not only will benefit your heart, but other areas of your health.
That's why it's important to recognize and manage your risk factors for heart disease. These include:
- high blood pressure
- high cholesterol
- smoking
- obesity
- diabetes
- family history.
If you have one or more of the risk factors listed below, it may be time to talk to your doctor about how to best manage your risk for heart disease. To find a doctor or schedule an appointment, call 903-596-DOCS.
