Kurtis Kostan, MD, is a board-certified internal medicine physician at UT Health East Texas Physicians on Three Lake Parkway in Tyler who believes in treating the patient and not just the symptoms. “My goal is to get to know each patient, education them on how to live a healthy lifestyle and truly listen to any of their concerns. Each patient should feel their concerns are important and understand the significance of being proactive in their healthcare.”
Dr. Kostan has been a hospitalist for several years where he has gained experience treating a wide range of medical conditions. However, he missed having the ability to create long-lasting relationships with his patients. As a result, he is passionate about providing comprehensive healthcare to patients and building relationships based on trust.
“As a primary care physician, I am particularly interested in helping patients with sports-related injuries, as well as patients with diabetic and metabolic disorders. These conditions require complex problem-solving skills, and can greatly influence the quality of life,” Dr. Kostan said.
When not seeing patients, Dr. Kostan enjoys participating in outdoor activities with his family as well as playing fantasy football.
Dr. Kostan is employed as a clinical faculty physician at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler under the UT Tyler School of Medicine.

It’s hard to find good doctors, especially in this town of Tyler , I’m sure many good doctors but to find is complicated. My visit with Dr Kostan proved to be exactly what a few of my close friends who come see him… an excellent doctor… he listened very closely and treated me with respect and he suggested and made a plan for me… can’t say much more other than he’s a one in a million type of person… I hope we have more doctors as himself… an amazing doctor… his staff is awesome also

Refreshing to finally have a Dr. who listens and you and explains everything thoroughly and where you can understand. He staff is amazing too. So happy with Dr.Kostan and his staff!!

I am so impressed with Dr. Kostan. He was very understanding and thorough. He made me feel comfortable with expressing my concerns and my health. The office staff was so warm and friendly even though I had my baby with me and she was becoming a little cranky. I am so happy that Dr. Kostan is my doctor now.

I have been going to Dr Kostan‘s office now for over a year. I am a type one diabetic with an insulin pump. I’ve always received great care from Dr Kostan and his staff. I have had no negative experiences at all. They always listen very carefully and react to whatever my needs are. I highly, highly recommend them.
To add on to my previous post above just let me say that I am still highly satisfied, even overjoyed with the great care I get from Dr Kostan and all members of his staff such as his nurse Yolanda who is very kind and efficient along with the phlebotomists who pull the blood. All are great.
