"I am dedicated to providing compassionate, holistic care, emphasizing evidence-based medicine and collaboration between primary care physicians and specialists to ensure the best outcomes for our patients," said Dr. Serpa-Alvarez.
"My journey into healthcare began with a desire to serve my community and positively impact their quality of life. I knew that a career in medicine would allow me to make a meaningful difference in the lives of many people.
"As an infectious disease specialist, I have extensive experience in HIV medicine, surgical infections and tropical medicine, as well as a strong interest in medical education.
"I was drawn to infectious diseases by the potential to treat, prevent and even eradicate highly prevalent communicable diseases, particularly in resource-limited settings. This specialty allows me to make a meaningful impact not only on individual patients but also on the health of entire communities."
Outside of work, Dr. Serpa-Alvarez enjoys swimming and traveling. He also has a personal interest in healthcare management and reading personal finance books. In addition to English, Dr. Serpa-Alvarez is fluent in Spanish.
