Dana Carns, DNP, APRN, FNP-C, is a family nurse practitioner at UT Health East Texas Physicians in Chandler. “I believe patient care requires five characteristics: compassion, confidence, competence, conscience and commitment,” she said. “With my 20 years of experience in healthcare, I have a valuable knowledge base and competence to offer my patients.” She demonstrates compassion by treating each patient like a loved one. “It is my commitment to each patient to remain open minded and listen earnestly to provide the best choice for their health,” she said.
Dana first got into healthcare after her grandfather was diagnosed with cancer, and she was touched to see the relationship between the patient and provider. She has experience working in a trauma ICU and this is where she developed a love for orthopedics and individualized care.
Her hobbies include cookie decoration, interior design, traveling to new places and learning about new cultures.
