UT Health Athens
William "Russell" Giles Jr., MD, is an internal medicine physician who believes that being born and raised in Henderson County gives him an edge in caring for patients at UT Health East Texas Physicians at Cedar Creek Lake in Gun Barrel City. "I'm very familiar with East Texas and the people who live here. I feel, as someone who has a good grasp on the local issues, I am able to better serve the community."
In addition to serving the people of the East Texas area in which he grew up in, Dr. Giles is excited to be working with UT Health East Texas. "Having received almost all my higher education and post-graduate residency training from UT System schools and associated hospitals, I am familiar with and respect their standards for education and patient care."
Dr. Giles earned both his bachelor's and master's degrees in biology from The University of Texas at Tyler. He also earned his doctor of medicine from The University of Texas at Houston Medical School.
