5 years and older
Andrew Bowers, MD, is a board-certified family medicine physician who cares for patients ages 5 and older at UT Health East Texas Physicians in Bullard. He chose family medicine because he enjoys establishing long-term relationships with his patients, which also helps him identify and prevent health problems before they happen.
“I believe that making eye contact and truly listening to my patients are essential components to building trust and creating a successful doctor-patient relationship.” Dr. Bowers also has a good sense of humor and enjoys sharing a laugh or two with his patients. “Laughter can truly be the best medicine,” he said.
Dr. Bowers grew up in nearby Shreveport, Louisiana, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in biology from the Centenary College of Louisiana and his doctor of medicine from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center. He completed his family medicine residency from the Scott & White Medical Center in Temple.
His personal interests include spending time with his wife and children, playing basketball, going to the movies and watching college sports.
Dr. Bowers is employed as a clinical faculty physician at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler under the UT Tyler School of Medicine.
