Devanshi Mehta, MD

Specialty:
Pulmonology
Critical Care Medicine
Patient Population:

18 years and older

"My approach to care is patient-centered, emphasizing the importance of providing information in an understandable way so patients can make informed decisions about their treatment options. Patient autonomy and safety come first, above all else. Empowering patients with the tools they need to make the decision that is right for them is my first job," said Dr. Mehta.

"From a young age, I always had an interest in the life sciences, a passion that began in high school. This fascination led me to pursue a career in healthcare, where I could merge my love for science with my desire to help others.

"As a pulmonologist, I treat the whole gamut of lung diseases, with a particular focus on interstitial lung disease. My interest in pulmonology is deeply personal, as I suffer from asthma myself. This connection has fueled my dedication to the field, where I enjoy the cerebral nature of diagnosing and treating complex respiratory conditions."

When not seeing patients, Dr. Mehta enjoys listening to music and hiking whenever she gets a chance. In addition to English, Dr. Mehta is fluent in Hindi and Gujarati.

Dr. Mehta is employed as a clinical faculty physician at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler under the UT Tyler School of Medicine.
