About Jason Scott APRN, FNP-C
Jason Scott, APRN, FNP-C, is a family nurse practitioner, specializing in cardiology at UT Health East Texas Heart and Vascular Institute in Tyler. He believes in meeting people where they are, “I want to educate people in a way they can understand and then help them put into practice the lifestyle changes and treatments that can positively affect their lives. Patients should know that I truly care and want to help them be their best” he said.
Jason started his career in pharmaceutical sales, he said after having a long career in pharmaceutical sales, I realized that I wanted to do more to help others in our community.” He joined the team as a nurse in the heart catheterization lab and became a nurse practitioner. Nursing, especially at the level of a nurse practitioner, allows me to serve in that role, and do more to help others.”
When not treating patients, he enjoys traveling with his wife “You can usually find us listening to live music or enjoying a nice glass of wine. I love the outdoors so hunting and fishing are some of my favorite activities.” He also play the drums in a band and has played most of his life.
