Shayna Burdeaux, DO, is an obstetrician and gynecologist at UT Health East Texas Physicians in Tyler.

She believes excellent healthcare is built on a foundation of trust and respect between the patient and the physician. “I aim to earn trust and respect at each and every patient encounter,” she said. “Every person deserves quality care, and the right treatment considers each person as an individual with their own set of values and diverse background and inherently honors their specific needs. My goal is to equip women with knowledge and tools to help them advocate for the healthiest version of themselves.”

Dr. Burdeaux said it has been her dream to become a doctor since she was a little girl, and that she knew healthcare was her calling after participating in a medical mission trip. As for her specialty, she said, “My specialty chose me! I found myself falling in love with all aspects of women’s care while in medical school.” In addition to her specialization in obstetrics and gynecology, Dr. Burdeaux completed a four-year surgical program, which allows her to offer comprehensive women’s care with no age limitations.

When not treating patients, Dr. Burdeaux enjoys spending time with her husband, their two children and their dog.

Dr. Burdeaux is employed as a clinical faculty physician at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler under the UT Tyler School of Medicine.

I can't tell you how nice it is to be finally have a dr who listens to concerns and then does something about them. I am in my 40s and have gone my whole life with having issues that other doctors would just ignore. Dr. Burdeaux jumped right in and started running all the right tests and getting me on the path to feeling better. I would highly recommend her to anyone!

Dr. Burdeaux is the absolute best! It’s so wonderful to have a provider who listens instead of dismissing concerns. After dealing with extremely heavy periods for over 20 years, she helped me and my quality of life has drastically improved. I will be following her to the new Tyler location on my next visit.

New patient of Dr. Burdeaux and I have been completely satisfied. She did a laparoscopic day surgery and was very knowledgeable and caring. Surgery went just as planned and she listened to my concerns and followed through with plans discussed prior to surgery.

Dr. Burdeaux is the best OB I have ever had. She is always caring and thorough and has answered any and all questions I've had. Having our baby with her as the doctor was a very healing experience from my previous pregnancy and delivery.

Dr. Burdeaux is always so nice and informative. She makes you feel comfortable in a setting that normally isn't so comfortable. She found my cancer early and was able to save my life possibly. I love this OBGYN and will never go elsewhere. She is one of a kind for sure.
