Henderson, Texas (November 6, 2023) —  UT Health Henderson earned an “A” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit watchdog that sets standards for excellence in patient care. Tyler, Texas (November 1, 2023) —  Rachel Carney, RN, a nurse in the renal/urology unit at UT Health Tyler, has been recognized by Ardent Health Services with the 2023 Nurse of the Year Award.

UT Health East Texas physicians involved with study to treat high blood pressure

Tyler, Texas (Oct. 26, 2023) —  High blood pressure is a problem for a large percentage of East Texans, but that soon may be changing thanks to a study led by two physicians with the UT Health East Texas Heart and Vascular Institute. Dr. Frank Navetta and Dr. Robert Smith are researching a new procedure that may lower blood pressure even if it is resistant to medication. UT Health East Texas breaks ground on $12 million new facility

Tyler, Texas (September 15, 2023) —  UT Health East Texas will build a two-story, 20,000-square-foot building in South Tyler to house orthopedics and sports medicine services, an urgent care, a diagnostic and imaging facility as well as outpatient rehabilitation.

On Friday, Tyler Mayor Don Warren joined UT Health East Texas physicians and leaders to break ground on the new facility, which has an anticipated opening in mid to late 2024.

UT Health East Texas EMS expands coverage to Panola County

Carthage, Texas (June 23, 2023) — UT Health East Texas EMS will expand services to cover Panola County starting June 28. 

The Panola County Commissioners Court unanimously approved the contract Tuesday, meaning UT Health EMS will now provide ground ambulance and helicopter service to six East Texas counties covering more than 4,600 square miles.
